Brooke Burke's Favorite Celeb: Mrs. Brady

Before signing her new book at Borders.

Brooke Burke, the co-host of "Dancing With the Stars," revealed last night that out of all the celebrities she has met during her career, Florence Henderson is the one who has inspired her the most.

"She's an amazing woman who is timeless and still sexy," Burke said. "She taught me an invaluable lesson. She said to me that you have to put yourself first in life. It's not just about the kids. She's really affected me."

Burke, who started out as a contestant -- and eventual winner -- in the seventh season of the dance-off show, said that it is one of the few places she has found that presents a chance to really get to know celebrities.

"'Dancing With the Stars' is interesting because that's an opportunity to see people without their entourage," Burke said. "You really see people for who they are on that show."

She also spoke about her new book, "The Naked Mom," at the Borders in Columbus Circle last night. She said she devoted all of her free time over the past year to writing it.

"I worked on it in a dressing room, in my car, at night, in the morning, every free moment I had," Burke said. "I wondered if I was telling too much or not telling enough, or if things were relevant or if anyone was going to care about this or if people are going to judge me. But I decided I'm just going to do it and I'm going to do it honestly. It was a crazy, therapeutic experience."

"What Not To Wear's" Clinton Kelly Reveals Secret to New Book: Tourists!

By: BROOKE NIEMEYER

Fashion guru and "What Not to Wear" co-host Clinton Kelly told the crowd at 92nd Street Y last night that many of the style mistakes mentioned in his latest book came from an afternoon he spent sitting by the window at a Times Square Starbucks.

"I just watched all the tourists go by," Kelly said during the final stop on the tour for his new book, Oh No She Didn't: The Top 100 Style Mistakes Women Make and How to Avoid Them. "I kept writing down fashion mistake after fashion mistake after fashion mistake. In the time it took me to drink one tall latte, I had 85 of the 100 mistakes."

Kelly also addressed his relationship with "WNTW" co-host Stacy London.

"Stacy and I get along really well," Kelly said. "We are great friends at work and we make each other laugh every single day. I guess we're lucky like that."

Kelly divulged his fashion do's and don'ts, drawing on stories from the show as well as his latest tome.

"Sweat pants are the devil," Kelly said. "They will only make your life worse. Only wear sweat pants when you are sweating."

He also advised all women to only use fashion magazines as a tool to learn about the latest trends, not to define your personal style.

"Style is how you take fashion and make it your own."

"Housewives" Danielle Staub Says She Has Reality TV Spin-Off in the Works

Lori Michaels and Danielle Staub celebrate Danielle's 48th Birthday at Scores.

By: BROOKE NIEMEYER
"Real Housewives of New Jersey" star Danielle Staub revealed during her birthday bash last night that she is in the works of creating her own spin-off reality show.

"It will definitely be a lot more of her (gal pal Lori Michaels) and I and definitely my kids," Staub told NiteSide before her 48th birthday bash at high-end strip club Scores in Manhattan. "Tehre will be a lot of questions that will be answered."

One question Staub did answer was the state of her relationship with Michaels, her producer and rumored girlfriend: "We're exclusively committable," she said while holding Michaels hand.

The pair was on stage at Scores to perform Staub's new single, "Real Closer," which she revealed will have a music video to go with it.

"It's going to be very sexy and soft," Staub said. "It will have two women and you can only guess who those two women are going to be."

A reality show and music video aren't the only upcoming projects for Staub, who is on the outs with her fellow "Housewives" castmates.

"I would love to [collaborate] with 50 cent," Staub said. "There is actually some talk going on already from his camp. Kat Deluna and I have something in the work as well."

While Staub said she knows "there is no place like Jersey," she did have some advice for the cast of the new "Real Housewives of DC."

"Consider it a job at the end of the day and don't let it get to you," Staub said. "Don't read the blogs because they're not going to make you feel good. Only accept positive correspondence on any online interactive sites, such as Twitter and Facebook. All the rest, you've got to ignore it and block it because it really will eat you up."

There was a surprise appearance of her "Real Housewives" nemesis, Kim "G" Grantell, before Staub arrived at Scores. Grantell was escorted from the premises before Staub walked the red carpet.

"She [Grantell] just really needs attention and that's why she showed up here," Staubs said. "She was nobody when I met her, she's nobody tonight, and she will never be anybody."

Steven Tyler (Sort of) Says He's the Next "Idol" Judge

By: BROOKE NIEMEYER

Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler is hinting at his new role as the man to replace Simon Cowell as a judge on American Idol.

"I'm doing it," Tyler told People magazine after a concert Saturday in Las Vegas. "What do you think? I'm doing it."

But the 62-year-old singer stopped short of drawing the line, saying his future plans include "recording an album and [I'm] probably going to be a judge on 'American Idol.'"

The popular show is undergoing major changes as it enters its tenth season. The search began for a new judge on the panel when iconic judge Simon Cowell quit last season after spending nine years on the panel. While the list of possible replacements for Cowell spanned from Justin Timberlake to Courtney Love, another opening cropped up when Ellen DeGeneres announced last week that she would not be returning for another season.

"I love discovering, supporting, and nurturing young talent, it was hard for me to judge people and sometimes hurt their feelings," DeGeneres wrote in a statement explaining why she left the show.

Jennifer Lopez is reportedly close to signing on to replace DeGeneres. While Fox has neither confirmed nor denied her addition, The Los Angeles Times reported on Sunday that Lopez was in the process of working out an agreement with Fox.

The shakeup continued when Kara DioGuardi's year-to-year contract was said to have not been renewed. Fox is also reportedly weighing whether to bring back former "Idol" executive Nigel Lythgoe, who has suggested starting over with an entirely new group of judges.

On Monday, Fox chairman Peter Rice said that execs still planned to keep the same number of panelists. But "no one has signed a deal yet," he said, HitFix reported.

"There are no signed deals with anybody," he said. "There has been tremendous speculation... I can tell you that much of the information that has been written is accurate and some of the information is wildly inaccurate."

For now, Tyler is still on stage and not behind the judges' table, quipping during Saturday's concert, "The rumors are true... I'm pregnant with [guitarist] Joe Perry's baby," he joked.

Auditions for the new season that starts in January are currently in progress.

I was asked to write a story for NBC's Entertainment section today. I was excited to get experience writing for more sections on the site and to get published in more cities. The story ran nationally on all the NBC local media sites. I'm so excited!! I'm including links to the published story from each of the markets it appeared in, even though they're all the same story.

Village People Cowboy Randy Jones Spearheads Same-Sex Reality Show

Nothing like being picked up by Randy Jones of the Village People and Olympic boxer Eric Kelly for a quick photo outside of Lucky Strike Lanes.

By: BROOKE NIEMEYER
Randy Jones, best known as the cowboy from the Village People, is developing a new reality show based on same-sex marriages, the singer recently revealed to NiteSide.

"In each location, we're going to bring other couples that want to have same sex ceremonies or weddings," Jones said during Matt DeMatt's birthday celebration at Lucky Strike Lanes on Wednesday night. "So it's not just about us. It's about everybody."

The show follows Jones and his partner, who have been together for 26 years, as they travel to each state in America and to foreign countries in an attempt to set a world record in the Guinness Book of Records for commitment ceremonies and weddings.

Jones acknowledged that not every place may welcome the idea of same sex marriage, but he has a plan for when they encounter those situations.

"We're going to see if we can find somebody there that will marry us," Jones said. "If they won't, we'll listen to their reasons why they don't want to marry us."

Nightlife Kingpin Matt DeMatt Reveals Plans for HBO Show

Matt DeMatt at Lucky Strike Lanes

By: BROOKE NIEMEYER
Nightlife guru Matt DeMatt dished last night on the TV show about life behind the velvet ropes that he is penning for HBO.

"It's basically all true experiences," the owner of Meatpacking staples Gaslight and G2 said during his birthday bash at Lucky Strike Lanes in Manhattan Wednesday night. "There's a moral to every story on the show too -- mostly about how to make yourself a better person."

The club owner, who claims to have helmed more than 50 venues in his lifetime, is working on the project with fellow nightclub guru Nick Kardaras. The show, which is still in the works and does not yet have an air date, is about two guys from Queens working in the industry.

DeMatt is also producing a show called "Woodstock -- You should've Been There" for Jimi Hendrix percussionist Gerardo Velez and is trying to bring regular shows to Caesar's Palace and Harrah's in Atlantic City.

"I always told people this is what I was going to do," DeMatt said of the cutthroat nightlife industry. "I love what I do and I think you should do things you love and then the money follows, not the other way around."

DeMatt had a back injury that caused him to not be able to do as much as he wants to but that doesn't stop him from going forward.

"I've had a really good life," DeMatt said.

"Housewives" Star Danielle Staub Dishes on Her New Love

By: BROOKE NIEMEYER
"Real Housewives of New Jersey" reality star Danielle Staub dished on her new love last night: creating music.

"I am excited to start a new adventure," Staub told NiteSide at the birthday celebration for New York City nightclub owner Noel Ashman at Lucky Strike Lanes and Lounge in Midtown on Wednesday night.

"I have realized that I love doing this."

Joining the growing ranks of "Real Housewives" starlets who have produced singles, Staube said she's excited for the mid-July release of her duet single "Real Close" with singer Lori Michaels and that the project happened "simply and organically."

"It was almost by accident really," Staub said. "I was just listening to a demo of hers [Lori Michaels] and humming along to it and then it all went from there."

Staub, 47, said there will also be a music video released.

"It's going to be quite beautiful," she said. "But it's definitely going to be something people won't expect."
